Content and Program Manager

Women in Payments offers women in the payments and fintech industry opportunities for career development through learning, networking, mentorship, and recognition at all stages of their careers. JOB PROFILE
The Content and Program Manager will help to develop the agendas and curate content and speakers for six symposia globally, including Canada, USA, EMEA, LATAM, ASEAN and Australia.
All content should keep the full spectrum of the payments ecosystem in mind as it is being developed to deliver the most informative and balanced thought leadership. This includes speakers from wholesale, retail, regulators, vendors, processors, retail payment networks, wholesale payment networks, fintechs, consultants, treasury professionals, etc.
When developing the content and agendas, speakers should be split between domestic and non-domestic as appropriate, with at least one speaker from each confirmed regional and global sponsor.
DELIVERABLES
The deliverables for content programming include the following for each symposium:
- Managing, categorizing, evaluating and prioritizing queue of inbound speaking proposals to facilitate the selection of speakers and session topics. This will involve research, judgement and decision-making skills in order to provide recommendations for speaker recruitment and track theme selection.
- Participation on Advisory Board content review calls.
- Writing of titles/descriptions for approximately:
- Three tracks (Leadership, Digital Payments, Payments Innovation), with 3 breakout sessions per track for a total of 9 sessions (with 1 Moderator and 3-4 panelists)
- 2-3 keynote sessions (1-2 speakers per session)
- 2-4 main stage sessions (Executive Panel, Innovation Panel, Debates)
- Special Programs such as the Unicorn Challenge and Mentoring sessions.
- Working with Speaker Manager to identify those speakers from the Call for Content portal who will not be invited.
- Extending invites and confirming all speakers from Call for Content portal for breakouts and as needed for main stage sessions.
- Research and network in each region for additional speakers to add value to topics; extend invites as appropriate.
- Communication via email and phone with speakers and their representatives (Executive Assistants, PR firms, Corporate Communications teams, etc.) regarding:
- The status of their speaking proposal (e.g. rejected, requires further information, accepted, etc.)
- Their role on the agenda (e.g. moderator/panelist/presenter, session assignment, etc.)
- Information required for their speaking role (e.g. bio, headshot photo, presentation materials, etc.)
- Content and structure of their presentations (e.g. moderator session plans, presentation outlines, etc.)
- Assisting Speaker Manager with collecting headshots/bios and follow up with registration as needed.
- Finding and confirming alternate, appropriate speakers to replace those that cancel.
- Working with Marketing to identify sessions that can be marketed to the industry.
- Scheduling and holding preparatory calls with speakers and moderator for each session

- A strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently
- Event experience and/or experience of the payments, financial services, tech and retail sector is a big advantage
- Judgement and decision making based on facts and intuition is of great importance
- Ability to network, speak on stage and write articles or the desire to do so is important.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10 years’ work experience; ideally in relevant payments or financial services industry roles, including corporate or product strategy, business development, consultant/analyst, media, event production, etc.
- Conference agenda development experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to articulate industry topics and trends in internal briefs, agenda session descriptions, marketing materials, etc.
- Strong project management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and network of industry contacts in the areas listed above
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and research skills, e.g. market analysis, industry trends, etc.
- Strong administrative skills; proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Dropbox and other similar software package
- Bachelor degree

While this is a remote role, ideal candidates will be in the greater Toronto area, so they can attend regular in-person company meetings. We appreciate interest from all candidates, however will only contact a short list of candidates for further discussion.
