Sharing her career journey by answering the six questions below.
Who or what has been your biggest source of inspiration throughout your career?
In the course of my career, I have drawn inspiration from several sources. Notably, the courageous individuals I’ve worked alongside, including military veterans and their families, as well as entrepreneurs who give everything they have because they know they have something valuable to offer their community. These individuals, with their resilience and esprit de corps, have consistently demonstrated the power of getting back up in the face of adversity and the importance of an ecosystem of support. Their unwavering commitment to thrive amidst challenges inspires me to foster environments where daring vision and a commitment to use our space and place to expand room for others are key pillars.
Would you say your success is primarily due to luck or hard work?
I’ve learned that consistency and persistence are just as important as passion. They help you develop resilience when you encounter setbacks or obstacles, enabling you to keep striving towards your north star despite the headwinds. I’m also a huge fan of whoever said, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
What is the driving force behind your career aspirations?
My driving force behind my career aspirations, whatever role I’ve had – the military, non-profit, or corporate sector – is the desire to make a sustainable, positive impact – to create high performance teams and environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. This aligns with my belief that businesses, at their best, pursue both profit and purpose, leveraging their influence to generate both economic impact and shared value within workplaces, marketplaces, and community spaces.
If given the chance to do one thing differently in your career, what would it be and why?
What was your most favourite job/role and why?
My favourite role is my current position as head of Global Corporate Citizenship at Fiserv. I’m thrilled to leverage fintech to create innovative, scalable programs and partnerships on a global scale. This role allows me to drive economic impact and foster inclusive commerce through Fiserv’s multiple platforms like our Clover business operating system, supporting business growth and development from Main Street to Wall Street to support thriving, vibrant communities worldwide.
Do you have a favourite motto or quote that guides your professional life?
Yes, a favourite piece of advice that guides me is: “Think Big, Act Small, Move Quick.” A mentor who has been my advocate for many years told me that phrase a long time ago. It emphasizes the importance of having a visionary outlook while remaining grounded and agile in execution. It encapsulates the approach I believe in – being purposeful and persistent while adapting swiftly as needed to achieve impactful results.
