Sharing her career journey by answering the six questions below.
Who or what has been your biggest source of inspiration throughout your career?
My biggest sources of inspiration are definitely my parents. They had me at a young age and had such ambitious dreams for themselves. Despite making countless sacrifices for my well-being, they always ensured I had an incredible life. I strive to make them proud in everything I do. Additionally, my daughter is a huge inspiration for me. I want to show her that it’s possible to be a successful career woman while also being a dedicated mom, and I aim to give her an amazing life.
Would you say your success is primarily due to luck or hard work?
I would say my success is largely a result of hard work. I’ve faced many challenges throughout my career, often navigating things on my own. While I didn’t always have immediate family or similar career paths in my circle, I was fortunate to have some incredible sponsors who not only supported me but also pushed me to work harder. There’s definitely an element of luck involved—being in the right place at the right time—but it boils down to the grit and determination I’ve put into my journey.
What is the driving force behind your career aspirations?
Right now, my daughter is my primary driving force. I’m focused on giving her a fantastic life and creating generational wealth. Financial freedom is important to me, as it allows us to make memories and truly be present with each other. On a deeper level, I’m also pursuing fulfillment—seeking those moments that make me feel like I’m walking in my purpose and using my gifts to their fullest potential.
If given the chance to do one thing differently in your career, what would it be and why?
What was your most favourite job/role and why?
This might sound a bit unconventional, but my favorite job has to be when I was a shampoo girl. I absolutely loved it! I went to the salon every week, and when my stylist had an opening, I jumped at the chance. There was something so satisfying about shampooing people’s hair and helping them relax. I enjoyed connecting with clients, listening to their stories, and hearing all the salon gossip. It was a fun experience that taught me so much at just 17 years old.
Do you have a favourite motto or quote that guides your professional life?
Yes, I do! My favorite motto is, “Why not you?” Whenever I find myself questioning my capabilities, I remind myself that if someone else can do it, can figure it out, can make their dreams come true, etc., then why not me? That mindset has been incredibly empowering.
