Sharing her career journey by answering the six questions below.

Who or what has been your biggest source of inspiration throughout your career?

I am deeply inspired by the adult learners I work with through my volunteer service with the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition over the past 25 years. From ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to GED classes, we support hundreds of adults who work full-time jobs and then spend their evenings improving their literacy skills to create better opportunities for themselves and their families. When I look for inspiration, I think about the dedication and perseverance they demonstrate every day. Their commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement motivates me to work harder and appreciate the opportunities I have been given.

Would you say your success is primarily due to luck or hard work?

Definitely hard work. Throughout my career, I have consistently focused on going above and beyond expectations. While opportunities may present themselves, I believe success comes from being willing to put in the effort, stay persistent through challenges, and always look for ways to contribute more than what is required.

What is the driving force behind your career aspirations?

I am motivated by my colleagues, both the people I lead and the managers who support me. Seeing how hard others work inspires me to do my best for them. I want to help create an environment where people can succeed and feel supported. Knowing that my efforts can positively impact others is what drives me to go the extra mile.

If given the chance to do one thing differently in your career, what would it be and why?

I started my career on the issuing side of the payments industry and have spent the past 20 years on the acquiring side. Along the way, I have worked in Operations, Call Centers, Business Development, and Sales. Looking back, I would not change anything. Each role provided unique challenges and rewarding experiences that helped shape my perspective and broaden my skill set. Those experiences have given me the foundation and appreciation for the business that I have today.

What was your most favourite job/role and why?

My favourite role is the one I am in today. I have the opportunity to work with an incredibly motivated, talented, and dedicated group of people, and I truly appreciate them. Watching the team collaborate, overcome challenges, and achieve results together is both rewarding and inspiring.

Do you have a favourite motto or quote that guides your professional life?

One quote that has always resonated with me is Maya Angelou’s: “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”

I appreciate the balance and personal accountability reflected in those words. If a circumstance is within your power to improve, take action and make a change. When something is beyond your control, focus on your response and perspective. I believe that how we react to challenges often determines our ability to move forward successfully.
