Is Blockchain Relevant as an Enabling Technology?

Blockchain has potential to transform the way we store and exchange value. Blockchain (distributed ledger technology) is the building block for the “internet of value”, enabling the recording of interactions and transfer of value over a peer-to-peer network without the need for a central authority or coordinating entity. This session will explore blockchain technology, including how it works, permissioned versus non-permissioned networks, and the industries that may benefit from using it. We’ll dive into the need for a collaborative approach to blockchain, which includes industry groups, consortiums, regulators and governments, and will provide the information needed for a comprehensive understanding of the blockchain environment.
